HIVE Digital Technologies announced it has reached an operational hashrate of 6.0 Exahashes per second (EH/s). This milestone represents a 47% year-over-year growth in hashrate compared to 4.08 EH/s recorded at December 31, 2023.
The increase in operational capacity was primarily driven by the ongoing upgrade of the company’s Bitcoin mining fleet. This upgrade involved the deployment of state-of-the-art Avalon machines procured from Canaan Inc., boosting both the efficiency and overall capacity of HIVE's mining operations.
Furthermore, HIVE reported securing highly competitive energy pricing in Sweden, which contributes to its hedged position against fluctuating energy costs. This operational efficiency and strategic energy procurement are key to maintaining profitability in the Bitcoin mining industry.
