AMTD Digital announced a plan to expand its hotel portfolio to more than 1,000 rooms within the next 12 to 15 months, a move that could double the revenue contribution from its hospitality segment.
The company currently operates 366 rooms across its Hong Kong and Singapore properties: 98 rooms at the iclub AMTD Sheung Wan Hotel in Hong Kong and 268 rooms at Dao by Dorsett AMTD Singapore. A 150‑room hotel in New York City is in exclusive negotiations, while a 68‑room Dao by Dorsett AMTD Hornsey hotel in London has been completed but has not yet officially opened.
If the New York and London acquisitions close, the portfolio would rise to 585 rooms, setting the stage for the planned 1,000‑room target. The expansion aligns with AMTD Digital’s strategy to diversify its hospitality and VIP services and to leverage its SpiderNet platform to enhance customer experience and generate new revenue streams.
Financially, the company’s first‑half 2025 results showed a 1,085.9% increase in revenue to US$73.2 million, driven largely by the hospitality segment, which reported US$13.6 million in revenue—an increase of 172.4% from the same period in 2024. The company’s consolidation of The Generation Essentials Group (TGE) in October 2024 has been a key driver of this growth.
The company has not disclosed the financial terms of the New York or London hotel acquisitions, but the strategic rationale centers on expanding its global footprint, integrating the SpiderNet ecosystem into hotel operations, and capitalizing on post‑pandemic demand for premium hospitality services.
