HealthStream and the American Red Cross announced on January 28, 2025, a significant expansion of their Resuscitation Suite™ portfolio with the introduction of the Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) education program. This program aims to develop and certify clinical staff in life-saving resuscitation for newborns. The NALS program adds a fourth critical element to the existing Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) offerings, which have collectively seen over 1.5 million certifications since 2019. The new training is crucial given that over 35% of U.S. counties are considered 'maternity care deserts'. The program is available through HealthStream’s hStream® platform via the HealthStream Learning Center® application, providing superior program management tools and seamless certificate management. It emphasizes evidence-based practices and aligns with international resuscitation guidelines, offering an adaptive learning experience for neonatal clinicians.
