Heritage Commerce Corp announced on August 18, 2025, the appointment of Christopher J. Abate to its Board of Directors, expanding the Board from eight to nine members. Mr. Abate will also serve on the Board's Audit Committee and its Personnel and Compensation Committee.
Mr. Abate brings over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, with extensive knowledge in real estate and finance. He has served as Chief Executive Officer of Redwood Trust, Inc. since May 2018 and as a director since December 2017.
Julie Biagini-Komas, Chair of the Board, stated that Mr. Abate's deep experience and leadership skills will be a valued addition, complementing the contributions of other Board members. CEO Clay Jones highlighted Mr. Abate's expertise in complex markets, product innovation, and platform development.
