Hut 8 Corp. announced a significant expansion of its energy infrastructure platform in February 2025, securing a 592-acre site in Louisiana for its new River Bend campus. This acquisition is a key component of the company's plans for large-scale AI data center development, representing one of three previously disclosed opportunities totaling 430 MW.

The River Bend site is strategically positioned to support a 300-megawatt utility-scale power asset, with 200 megawatts dedicated to IT load. This move underscores Hut 8's 'Power First' approach, integrating power, digital infrastructure, and compute at scale to fuel next-generation, energy-intensive use cases.

In parallel, the company reported that its Vega development remains on schedule for Q2 energization, with miner deliveries underway for the ~15 EH/s ASIC Colocation agreement with BITMAIN. These developments collectively advance Hut 8's goal of expanding its digital infrastructure layer and optimizing its compute capabilities.
