InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has completed the acquisition of the Ruby Urban Lifestyle brand for $116 million. This strategic move adds Ruby as the 20th brand to IHG's diverse global portfolio, enhancing its presence in the premium urban lifestyle segment.
The acquisition is projected to generate approximately $8 million in incremental fee revenue by 2028, with further growth anticipated to exceed $15 million by 2030. IHG plans to scale the Ruby brand significantly, targeting over 120 hotels within the next 10 years and more than 250 hotels over the next two decades.
Ruby's existing portfolio includes 30 hotels in its pipeline, with two additional properties signed since the acquisition. This expansion strategy is expected to bolster IHG's global footprint and diversify its offerings to meet evolving traveler preferences in urban markets.
