Illumina, Inc. announced on October 31, 2024, that it would present updates on several key innovations in whole-genome sequencing (WGS), proteomics, and single-cell technology at the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) Annual Meeting. These advancements aim to streamline workflows and expand genomic insights for researchers.
Among the innovations is the constellation mapped read technology, designed to simplify WGS workflows and eliminate traditional library preparation, with early access planned for the first half of 2025. This technology is expected to deliver a more comprehensive genome by adding long-range information and resolving challenging genic regions.
The company also provided updates on its Illumina Protein Prep solution, which identifies and quantifies over 6,000 human proteins and is compatible with NovaSeq™ X and NovaSeq 6000 Systems for multiomics analysis. Additionally, new 25B 100-cycle and 200-cycle kits for the NovaSeq X Series are expected by year-end, enabling multiomic applications at scale.
