Jacobs Solutions Inc. and Arcadis have been selected by the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads to lead the Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail Project, a 12.4‑mile corridor upgrade that will double track capacity from two to four tracks and eliminate five level crossings. The project is designed to improve safety, reduce congestion, and support the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The joint venture will design, program, and oversee the construction, with Jacobs serving as Project Independent Certifier to ensure quality and compliance throughout the program. The expansion will increase capacity, shorten travel times, and enhance connectivity for the region’s growing population.

The contract win adds significant backlog to Jacobs, which reported a Q3 2025 backlog of $22.7 billion—up 14.3% year‑over‑year—and a book‑to‑bill ratio of 1.2×. The award aligns with Jacobs’ “Challenge Accepted” strategy, which targets high‑growth infrastructure projects and has driven the company’s recent revenue growth of 5.1% YoY and adjusted EBITDA increase of 13.5%.

While the contract value was not disclosed, the project is expected to generate substantial revenue over its multi‑year construction period. Jacobs’ Q3 2025 revenue growth and backlog expansion demonstrate strong execution and disciplined cost management, reinforcing the company’s competitive position in the Australian market.

Management emphasized the strategic importance of the project. Executive Vice President Keith Lawson said the selection reflects trust in the joint venture’s capability to deliver complex infrastructure, while Arcadis leader Michael Downing highlighted the project’s role in supporting the 2032 Games.

The upgrade is part of Queensland’s broader investment plan to address long‑term travel demand and improve rail safety. By eliminating level crossings and expanding capacity, the project is expected to reduce travel times and enhance regional connectivity, benefiting commuters and freight operators alike.

Jacobs’ focus on transportation and infrastructure aligns with its recent financial performance, where revenue growth and backlog expansion signal execution strength. The new contract reinforces the company’s growth trajectory and strengthens its presence in the Australian market.
