Jacobs and AECOM have entered a joint‑venture to provide design services for The Mukaab, a 400‑meter tall, 400‑meter wide, and 400‑meter deep structure that will anchor a 247‑acre mixed‑use development in Riyadh. The contract was announced on November 5, 2025 and positions Jacobs as a key partner in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative to diversify the economy and boost tourism.

The joint‑venture will deliver design for the Mukaab core, surrounding podiums, infrastructure, road tunnels, wadi podiums, and public realm. While the contract value has not been disclosed publicly, the scope indicates a multi‑million‑dollar engagement that will span several years, with design work slated to begin in early 2026 and complete by 2028 in preparation for the 2030 construction target.

The Mukaab is intended to be one of the world’s largest built structures, with each dimension measuring 400 meters. Its design draws inspiration from Najdi architecture and incorporates advanced digital and immersive technologies. The project is a flagship element of Saudi Vision 2030, aimed at diversifying the economy and creating a new urban experience in Riyadh.

Jacobs’ involvement aligns with its strategy to focus on infrastructure and advanced facilities in high‑growth regions. The company has a $12 billion annual revenue base and a workforce of nearly 45,000. In the Middle East, Jacobs has delivered projects such as the Diriyah Wadi Safar development and the King Salman International Airport, demonstrating its capability to manage large‑scale, complex projects.

The Mukaab contract comes shortly after Jacobs reported Q3 2025 earnings that beat expectations. Adjusted EPS rose to $1.62 from $1.53, a 25 % year‑over‑year increase, driven by strong demand in core engineering services and disciplined cost management. Revenue grew 5.1 % to $3.03 billion, supported by higher volumes in the Middle East and North Africa region. The company’s record backlog of $22.7 billion and raised full‑year EPS guidance of $6.00‑$6.10 signal confidence in continued growth and the ability to convert new contracts into future revenue.

Bob Pragada, Jacobs’ Chair and CEO, said the Mukaab project is an “extraordinary opportunity to redefine the urban experience” and that the firm is “bringing together design and technology to shape transformational places embodying Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 ambition.” CFO Venk Nathamuni highlighted the company’s strong execution and the role of the new contract in reinforcing its financial trajectory.
