Jacobs Solutions Inc. (NYSE: J) was selected by Murphy as the civil design partner for the construction of the Uxbridge Moor substation, a new 400 kV and 132 kV facility in west London. The multimillion‑pound contract comes from National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET) and will see Jacobs design and oversee the new substation adjacent to NGET’s existing Iver substation in Buckinghamshire. The scope includes the construction of the 400 kV and 132 kV substations, ancillary facilities, underground cabling, and modification works to the 400 kV overhead line network.

The award adds to Jacobs’ portfolio of large‑scale power transmission projects and reinforces its standing as a top global firm in power, transmission, and distribution. The company’s expertise in delivering complex energy infrastructure at scale is highlighted by its role in projects such as Suedlink in Europe, Xcel Energy’s multi‑billion‑dollar reliability program, and the Marinus Link interconnector in Australia.

Jacobs reported $12 billion in annual revenue and employs almost 45,000 people. The Uxbridge Moor contract is a significant new customer win that expands the company’s backlog and supports its focus on infrastructure and advanced facilities.
