Airspan Networks announced an agreement to acquire Jabil’s Open RAN radio portfolio, along with its associated Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and radio research and development team. As part of the agreement, Airspan will also sublease Jabil's office and advanced testing labs located in New Jersey.
This divestiture by Jabil aligns with its strategic transformation to shed lower-margin businesses, including certain legacy networking operations, as outlined in its long-term plans. The transaction allows Jabil to further focus on higher-growth, higher-value segments.
The acquired portfolio includes a range of single, dual, and triple-band macro radios designed to support global operators across multiple spectrum bands. While the financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed, this move represents a strategic optimization of Jabil's business portfolio.
