Kyndryl Holdings (NYSE: KD) announced a renewal of its three‑year partnership with Vodafone Idea Limited (Vi), India’s third‑largest telecom operator, to deepen automated IT operations and deliver a unified cyber‑resilience framework across Vi’s enterprise network. The agreement expands Kyndryl’s role in building a security‑governance‑centric cyber‑resilience framework that includes zero‑touch services, data protection, identity and access management, security operations, and incident recovery, and it calls for a redesign of Vi’s cybersecurity architecture to meet upcoming regulatory requirements.

Kyndryl Bridge, the AI‑powered open‑integration platform that underpins the partnership, has already deployed more than 1,000 unique automations at Vi, cutting delivery‑event noise by 15%. The platform’s continued use is expected to accelerate operational improvements and reduce manual intervention across Vi’s IT estate, reinforcing the zero‑touch operations model that Kyndryl is promoting in its broader India strategy.

Kyndryl is investing $2.25 billion over the next three years in India, including the establishment of an AI lab, to support high‑growth markets and mission‑critical customers. The Vodafone Idea renewal is a key component of that investment, positioning Kyndryl as a trusted partner for complex, high‑availability environments and expanding its service portfolio in a market where telecom operators are aggressively modernizing their networks and IT infrastructure.

Vodafone Idea has reported a net loss of ₹5,524 crore in Q2 FY26 and continues to face a substantial debt burden. The partnership is therefore critical for Vi, as it seeks to improve operational efficiency, strengthen cyber‑resilience, and meet regulatory demands while navigating financial headwinds. By leveraging Kyndryl’s automation and AI capabilities, Vi aims to build a resilient, scalable, and intelligent IT backbone that can support rapid innovation and business agility.

Jagbir Singh, CTO of Vodafone Idea, said the collaboration “enables us to leverage advanced automation, AI‑driven insights and a zero‑touch operations model to optimise our IT infrastructure, aligning technology investments with long‑term business objectives.” Lingraju Sawkar, President of Kyndril India, added that “Vodafone India has recognised Kyndryl’s core expertise in managing mission‑critical systems and delivering complex transformations through this extended partnership.”

The renewal underscores Kyndryl’s strategy to deepen relationships with large, mission‑critical customers and expand its service portfolio in high‑growth markets. It also signals the company’s commitment to investing in India’s digital infrastructure, while providing Vodafone Idea with the tools to navigate regulatory changes and financial challenges. The partnership is expected to deliver measurable improvements in operational efficiency, cyber‑resilience, and cost control for both parties.
