Kraft Heinz is recalling approximately 367,812 pounds of Oscar Mayer turkey bacon due to concerns about potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The U.S. food safety regulator announced the recall, which affects products produced from April 25 through June 11.
The recalled turkey bacon products were shipped to retailers across the United States, the British Virgin Islands, and Hong Kong. Specific products include 12-ounce vacuum-packed 'Oscar Mayer Turkey BACON ORIGINAL' with use-by dates ranging from July 18 to August 2, and larger multi-packs with various use-by dates and lot codes.
Listeria contamination can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections, particularly in vulnerable populations. Consumers are advised to check for the recalled products and either dispose of them or return them to the retailer, as product testing revealed the potential for contamination.
