Nauticus Robotics completed the first paid commercial deployment of its ToolKITT autonomy software on two light work‑class remotely operated vehicles that were retrofitted after the company’s March 2025 acquisition of SeaTrepid International.

The retrofitted ROVs performed autonomous inspection and data‑collection tasks without human intervention, marking the first time ToolKITT has been used in a paid subsea project.

The acquisition of SeaTrepid for $14.4 million expanded Nauticus’s fleet and is projected to increase combined revenue ninefold relative to standalone Nauticus in 2024. Q1 2025 revenue was $0.2 million versus $0.5 million in Q1 2024, while Q2 2025 revenue rose to $2.1 million from $0.5 million a year earlier; net losses remain, and a $250 million equity line of credit was announced in October 2025.

ToolKITT’s modular AI‑driven navigation extends beyond the company’s proprietary Aquanaut platform, targeting a market of roughly 1,500 ROVs. By converting existing ROVs into fully autonomous assets, Nauticus aims to increase asset utilization and reduce operational costs for offshore clients, supporting its transition from R&D to a revenue‑generating business.
