KinderCare Learning Companies, Inc. announced its strong support for the Child Care Modernization Act on September 22, 2025. This bipartisan bill, introduced by Senators Deb Fischer (R-NE) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), aims to expand access to affordable, high-quality child care for working families.
The legislation proposes updates to the Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG), a cornerstone federal program that assists working families with childcare costs. By expanding eligibility and improving flexibility, the Act seeks to ensure more children receive early childhood education and enable parents to fully participate in the workforce.
Paul Thompson, CEO of KinderCare, stated that the CCDBG is one of the most effective tools to help parents remain in the workforce while their children receive educational care. KinderCare views this as a forward-looking investment in both today’s workforce and future generations, and looks forward to partnering with policymakers to advance the legislation.
