Know Labs, Inc. announced it has retained The Stanbridge Group to secure a strategic relationship with an automotive original equipment manufacturer. The goal is to embed Know Labs' sensor technology in automobile steering wheels for impaired driving detection.
Early preliminary tests in a laboratory setting demonstrated the Know Labs sensor's ability to non-invasively determine blood alcohol levels. The company believes this technology, integrated into steering wheels, could prevent impaired individuals from driving.
This application leverages a patent filed by Know Labs in 2022, titled "Vehicle Interface Systems and Methods for Analyte-Based Control," which was published on February 15, 2024. The initiative aligns with a mandate in President Biden's 2021 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act for passive alcohol detection systems in new vehicles by as early as 2026.
