Laser Photonics Corporation announced on December 19, 2024, that it received a dual order from global oil refiner Phillips 66. The order includes a CleanTech and a MarkStar laser system for use at a major U.S. oil refinery.
Phillips 66 acquired LPC’s CleanTech IR-3040, an industrial-grade handheld laser cleaning system, and the MarkStar PM-2010, a compact desktop laser marking system. These systems will be used at a pioneer site to test innovative technologies for optimizing processes, improving safety, and reducing environmental impact.
The CleanTech IR-3040 will remove scale during pipe and pressure vessel maintenance and prepare surfaces for repainting, with Phillips 66 considering replacing sandblasting processes. The MarkStar PM-2010 will mark data plates for refinery pressure vessels, providing a high-speed, consumable-free solution for permanent markings.
