Leggett & Platt announced on April 2, 2025, that it has signed an agreement to sell its Aerospace Products Group to affiliated funds managed by Tinicum Incorporated for a cash purchase price of $285 million. The transaction is expected to yield approximately $240 million in after-tax cash proceeds.
The Aerospace Products Group, which generated $190 million in net trade sales in 2024, supplies complex tube and duct assemblies for commercial and military aircraft and space launch vehicles. This divestiture is a key part of Leggett & Platt's ongoing strategic business review aimed at optimizing its portfolio.
The sale is anticipated to close in 2025, subject to regulatory approvals. The proceeds from this transaction are expected to be primarily used to reduce debt and strengthen the company's balance sheet, aligning with its stated financial priorities.
