Lifeward Ltd. announced on February 5, 2025, that it has finalized an agreement with BARMER, Germany’s second largest statutory health insurer. This agreement formalizes the reimbursement process for providing ReWalk Exoskeletons to medically eligible beneficiaries.
This strategic partnership significantly expands access to Lifeward's personal exoskeletons, adding 8.5 million covered lives in Germany. Following this agreement, approximately 45% of individuals with Statutory Health Insurance in Germany now have coverage policies with a defined reimbursement process for personal exoskeletons.
The agreement with BARMER is a critical step in streamlining access for eligible individuals with spinal cord injury in Germany. This development is expected to drive commercial adoption and revenue growth in a key European market for Lifeward.
