Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. announced today the official opening of its 40,000‑square‑meter production facility in Mar del Plata, province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The state‑of‑the‑art plant, built to process 200 million pounds of potatoes annually, will produce more than 100 varieties of frozen potato products and is now fully operational, having completed its first shipments to Brazil.
The facility is strategically positioned to serve the growing Latin American market, with approximately 80 % of its output earmarked for export to Brazil and other countries in the region. CEO Mike Smith highlighted the plant’s role as a key asset in meeting customer demand and expanding Lamb Weston’s presence in Latin America, while Vice President Romina Broda emphasized the local economic impact, noting the creation of 250 direct jobs and an expected 3,000 indirect jobs.
The opening of the Mar del Plata plant marks a significant milestone in Lamb Weston’s “Focus to Win” strategy, reinforcing its commitment to modern, efficient production and sustainable practices.
