LegalZoom has added an AI‑powered logo creation tool integrated with trademark registration, enabling customers to design logos and file for protection within the MyLZ portal.
The partnership with Design.com, an AI design platform, brings a suite of tools including a logo generator, website builder, and business card maker, allowing entrepreneurs to create brand assets quickly.
73% of LegalZoom customers report they do not have a logo when forming a business, indicating a significant unmet need that the new offering addresses. The integrated workflow encourages customers to secure trademark protection immediately after design.
The move aligns with LegalZoom’s strategy to shift toward subscription‑based, higher‑margin services. In Q2 2024, the company reported total revenue of $177 million, up 5% from the prior year, with subscription revenue up 6%. Gross margin fell to 65% from 68% in the same period in 2022, reflecting cost pressures.
Segment data shows that transaction services accounted for 55% of revenue, while subscription services grew to 30% of total revenue. The new logo and trademark bundle is expected to contribute to the subscription segment, boosting recurring revenue.
Kathy Tsitovich, Chief Corporate Development & Partnerships Officer, said the partnership expands LegalZoom’s value proposition for new business owners and strengthens its competitive position against other online legal service providers.
