Macy’s, Inc. celebrated the grand opening of its new customer fulfillment and store replenishment center in China Grove, North Carolina, on 17 October 2025. The 2.5‑million‑square‑foot facility is the company’s largest and most technologically advanced site to date, outfitted with the latest automation solutions and an advanced warehouse management system.
The center will initially support customer fulfillment and store replenishment for the Macy’s nameplate, with plans to extend services to Bloomingdale’s and Bluemercury over the next two years. By consolidating orders from all product categories—apparel, beauty, home, and toys—into a single location, the facility is expected to accelerate delivery times and reduce packaging, thereby improving the omnichannel customer experience.
Macy’s CEO Tom Edwards highlighted that the investment in automation and technology is a key component of the company’s “Bold New Chapter” strategy, aiming to streamline operations and enhance agility. The company also committed $250,000 to local community programs and is establishing an automation training lab at Rowan‑Cabarrus Community College to support workforce development.
