Montrose Environmental Group announced on December 18, 2024, its selection by Sydney Water, Australia's largest water utility, to install a per- and polyfluorinated substances (PFAS) mobile treatment system. This system will be deployed at Sydney Water's Cascade Water Filtration Plant outside of Sydney, Australia. The initiative addresses the detection of PFOS and PFHxS, two forms of PFAS, in the plant's outlet in June 2024. Montrose's mobile solution will provide immediate treatment of drinking water while Sydney Water pursues long-term upgrades, aiming to reduce PFAS to below the limits proposed in the draft Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. The installation of these multi-million-dollar systems underscores Montrose's commitment to the Australian market and its organic growth goals in the region. This project deepens Montrose's relationship with the broader Australian environmental services sector, contributing to the company's prospects for 2025 and beyond.
