Mawson Infrastructure Group Inc. clarified that it has not filed a voluntary Chapter 11 petition, contrary to a media report. Instead, Australian entities, including W Capital Advisors Pty Ltd and Marshall Investments MIG Pty Ltd, have filed an involuntary Chapter 11 petition against the company.
Mawson stated its Board of Directors intends to vigorously defend against such a filing if formally served, and expects to continue operating as usual. The company believes these proceedings are an improper attempt to gain leverage in ongoing legal disputes.
The company also disclosed ongoing litigation with Vertua Property Inc., an entity related to former board director James Manning, regarding alleged self-dealing, breach of contract, and tortious interference. Mawson filed a complaint in Pennsylvania on October 17, 2024, seeking reinstatement of a lease, compensatory damages, and other relief.
