MAC Copper Limited released its 2024 Resource and Reserve Statement, effective December 31, 2024, demonstrating that the company has replaced all mined material and achieved modest increases in resources and reserves. The mine life for the CSA Copper Mine has been extended to 12 years, up from 11 years previously.
The updated reserve grade improved from 3.3% Cu in 2023 to 3.44% Cu in 2024, attributed to refined mining practices and improved dilution control. The company maintained its production guidance for 2025 at 43,000-48,000 tonnes and for 2026 at 48,000-53,000 tonnes, with expected higher grades in the near term.
A significant development is the introduction of the "Merrin Mine," a new mining area in the upper parts of the CSA Copper Mine, expected to deliver its first ore in Q4 2025. This project is anticipated to be entirely additive to existing guidance and offers a high return on capital, with initial zinc mineralization identified and a processing agreement in place with Polymetals Resources Ltd.
