Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) announced additional details for the transformation of its private island, Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, headlined by a nearly six-acre Great Tides Waterpark set to open in summer 2026. This expansion aims to bring unforgettable adventures and endless relaxation to guests.
The new waterpark will feature 19 waterslides, an almost 800-foot dynamic river, and a new Jet Karts Water Track, offering diverse experiences for both adults and children. This significant investment is designed to elevate every guest's experience with more freedom, flexibility, and ways to enjoy 'The Great Life' on the island.
This major enhancement to Great Stirrup Cay is expected to significantly boost annual guest visits and yield uplift for the company. NCL is also inviting consumers to 'Escape to the Great Life' with activations in New York City and Miami, along with a nationwide sweepstakes giving away 250 cruises to the redefined private island.
