Cloudflare announced that it will acquire Replicate, a developer‑friendly platform that hosts more than 50,000 production‑ready AI models, in a deal that is expected to close within the next two months. The transaction will allow Cloudflare to embed Replicate’s extensive model catalog directly into its Workers AI platform, enabling developers to call any model with a single line of code and deploy it instantly across Cloudflare’s global edge network.

The integration will give Cloudflare’s Workers AI users instant access to a broader range of models, from image generation to natural‑language processing, without the need to manage infrastructure or scale compute resources. Replicate’s API‑driven deployment model aligns with Cloudflare’s serverless GPU offering, which has already seen a 4,000 % year‑over‑year increase in inference requests as of Q1 2025.

Cloudflare’s recent earnings reinforce the strategic fit of the acquisition. In Q1 2025 the company reported revenue of $479.1 million, up 27 % year‑over‑year, and in Q2 2025 revenue rose to $512.3 million, up 28 % year‑over‑year. Both quarters saw earnings that beat consensus estimates, with Q1 EPS of $0.16 meeting expectations and Q2 EPS of $0.21 exceeding forecasts by $0.03. Management has raised guidance for the remainder of the year, reflecting confidence in continued demand for AI‑centric services and the scalability of its edge platform.

Matthew Prince, co‑founder and CEO of Cloudflare, said the deal would “enable developers to discover any model they want from one of the industry’s largest catalogs, deploy it instantly on Cloudflare’s global network, and build an entire full‑stack application in one place.” Ben Firshman, co‑founder and CEO of Replicate, added that the partnership would “create the platform where developers can seamlessly build and deploy tomorrow’s next‑big AI applications.”

The acquisition positions Cloudflare to compete more aggressively in the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market. By combining Replicate’s marketplace and developer community with Cloudflare’s edge computing infrastructure, the company aims to become the leading end‑to‑end solution for building and running AI applications, leveraging its existing momentum in AI services and its strong track record of revenue growth and earnings performance.
