Nokia has secured a four‑year extension of its sole‑supplier relationship with TNN Denmark, a joint venture between Norlys and Telenor that operates Denmark’s largest shared mobile network. The deal covers more than three million subscribers and positions Nokia as the exclusive provider of 5G radio access network (RAN) equipment and managed services for the next four years.

The deployment will use Nokia’s AirScale RAN portfolio, including Habrok Massive MIMO radios and Pandion multi‑band remote radio heads. Baseband processing will be handled by the AI‑ready Ponente, Lodos, and Levante platforms, while network optimization will rely on MantaRay SON and MantaRay AutoPilot. These technologies embed machine‑learning capabilities that enable autonomous network tuning and predictive maintenance, aligning with Nokia’s strategy to embed AI and automation across its 5G portfolio.

Strategically, the extension strengthens Nokia’s presence in a high‑growth European market and provides a predictable revenue stream that offsets the company’s recent margin compression. In Q3 2025, Nokia reported a 150‑basis‑point decline in comparable gross margin and a 220‑basis‑point drop in comparable operating margin, reflecting pricing pressure and investment in new technologies. The TNN contract, while not publicly priced, is expected to contribute steady recurring revenue and reinforce Nokia’s competitive position against Ericsson and Huawei.

Management emphasized the partnership’s importance. CEO Pekka Lundmark said the renewal “demonstrates confidence in Nokia’s AI‑enabled network solutions and reinforces our long‑term commitment to delivering autonomous 5G services.” Norlys SVP Daniel Askeroth highlighted that the collaboration “will accelerate innovation and enhance network resilience for our customers.” Telenor Denmark CTO Louise Haurum added that the renewal “will bring transformative digital services to homes and businesses across Denmark.”

The announcement followed Nokia’s recent partnership with NVIDIA, which saw the company receive a $1 billion investment for joint AI‑powered 5G‑Advanced and 6G research. While the NVIDIA deal dominated short‑term market chatter, the TNN extension is viewed as a stabilizing factor that underlines Nokia’s AI strategy and its ability to secure long‑term contracts in key markets. Analysts have noted mixed views on the company’s valuation, but the contract is widely seen as a positive reinforcement of Nokia’s AI‑centric growth path.
