Universal Display Corporation’s wholly‑owned subsidiary, Universal Vapor Jet Corporation (UVJC), opened a new 8,000‑square‑foot headquarters and research‑development center in Mapletree Hi‑Tech Park, Kallang Way, Singapore. The facility houses UVJC’s global headquarters, an R&D laboratory, and a prototype manufacturing space designed to accelerate the commercialization of its Universal Vapor Jet Printing (UVJP) technology.

UVJC, established in 2024, plans to invest SGD 50 million—roughly $39 million USD—over the next five years in tools, equipment, and talent to support the new site. The investment is intended to create high‑value jobs across strategy, technology, and advanced engineering, and to strengthen collaborations with Singapore’s research institutions and industry partners, including the Economic Development Board (EDB) and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR).

The company’s CEO, Chandran Nair, who was appointed on December 2 2024, emphasized that the Singapore hub will serve as a launchpad for expanding UVJP applications beyond OLED into semiconductors, life sciences, and renewable energy. UVJC currently employs 15 people and plans to scale as needed, launching internship programs with the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore University of Technology and Design, and local polytechnics starting in November.

UVJP, a dry, solvent‑free, mask‑less printing and deposition technology that evolved from Universal Display’s original Organic Vapor Jet Printing (OVJP) platform, will be used to design and manufacture its first machine for other industries by March 2026. The move follows the consolidation of OVJP operations, with the Santa Clara, California site closed and activities shifted to UVJC in Singapore and Universal Display’s Tech and Innovation Center in New Jersey.

By establishing a dedicated R&D and manufacturing presence in Singapore—a global innovation ecosystem with a skilled talent pool and strong government support—UVJC is positioning itself to capture new market opportunities and support Universal Display’s growth in the rapidly expanding OLED and related markets.

The investment and facility expansion are expected to enhance UVJC’s competitive advantage and contribute to Universal Display’s long‑term value creation.
