Opera updated its iOS browser, Opera One for iOS, with new AI-based Image Understanding capabilities, allowing users to inquire about images using Aria. This feature enables users to upload photos or take new ones to learn more about their environment, solve problems, or write code.
The major overhaul of Opera One for iOS has resulted in a 66% increase in new users across Europe between August and September. This growth highlights the positive reception of the AI-centric browser, which combines the aesthetics of the desktop version with simplified mobile commands.
Opera One for iOS also features a new navigation style, Bottom Search, and intuitive gesture-driven commands designed to maximize screen space and minimize distractions. Aria, the built-in browser AI, is regularly updated with new capabilities, including Voice Input and Image Generation using Google's Imagen3 Fast model.
