Oracle Communications announced a partnership with Transatel, a global cellular IoT connectivity provider and subsidiary of NTT, to deploy Oracle’s cloud‑native 5G signaling core for its 5G standalone services across automotive, travel, and industrial applications.
Transatel operates a network that serves more than 300 international mobile carriers worldwide. The collaboration will enable secure, low‑latency connectivity for millions of IoT devices, including connected vehicles and in‑flight connectivity, by leveraging Oracle’s core functions such as Service Communication Proxy, Security Edge Protection Proxy, and Network Repository Function on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure platform.
The deal expands Oracle’s footprint in the telecom market and positions it to capture a share of the rapidly growing 5G‑IoT market, which is projected to reach $89.42 billion by 2030. Oracle’s cloud‑native core emphasizes scalability, automation, and security—key attributes for high‑performance 5G services.
Oracle’s recent financial results underscore the strategic importance of this partnership. Fiscal year 2025 Q4 revenue reached $15.9 billion, up 11% year‑over‑year, while full‑year revenue totaled $57.4 billion, up 8% year‑over‑year. CEO Safra Catz highlighted expectations for FY26 revenue growth above 40% in cloud, signaling confidence in the company’s telecom and cloud strategy.
Transatel CEO Jacques Bonifay said the partnership gives the company the scalability, security, and flexibility needed to deliver high‑performance 5G services worldwide. Oracle EVP Andrew Morawski noted that the collaboration will accelerate service delivery and monetization for millions of connected devices.
The partnership aligns with Oracle’s broader strategy to embed cloud‑native 5G core functions into its OCI platform, following earlier work with DISH Wireless. It also supports NTT’s broader IoT ecosystem, positioning both companies to benefit from the surge in industrial and automotive connectivity.
While financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the announcement signals Oracle’s continued investment in telecom infrastructure and its ambition to become a key player in the 5G‑IoT space.
