Plug Power Inc., in collaboration with Toyota Material Handling Europe, announced a partnership with STEF Group, a European leader in temperature-controlled food logistics. This initiative will bring hydrogen forklift and fuel cell solutions to two of STEF's cold storage distribution centers in Athis-Mons, France, and Torrejón de Ardoz, Spain.
Plug will provide its full GenKey ecosystem for these projects, including hydrogen fuel cells, GenFuel infrastructure, green hydrogen supply, and ongoing service. At the Torrejón de Ardoz site, Plug has supplied an electrolyzer to produce green hydrogen on-site, powered by a 2.9 MWp photovoltaic rooftop plant.
This collaboration expands Plug’s footprint in Europe and demonstrates the benefits of its solutions in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing operational efficiency, and enabling sustainable logistics for the food supply chain. The projects will initially involve setting up 48 forklifts in Athis-Mons and 67 forklifts in Torrejón de Ardoz.
