September 20, 2025
Plug Power Inc. announced a landmark purchase agreement with Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) for the supply of three gigawatts (GW) of electrolyzer capacity. This system will be deployed at AGA's green hydrogen-to-ammonia plant under development in Australia. AGA plans to install a 4.5 GW solar plant to power the Plug electrolyzers with zero-emission electricity, producing approximately 2,700 metric tons per day (TPD) of green ammonia. Plug will develop a Basic Engineering and Design Package (BEDP) to support financing. Manufacturing and delivery of Plug's Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzers are expected to commence in Q1 2027, contingent on a positive Final Investment Decision (FID) anticipated by Q2 2025. This agreement reinforces Plug's role in advancing global green ammonia production and supporting the transition to net-zero emissions.
