On October 21, 2025, Perpetua Resources Corp. announced that it had broken ground on early‑works construction for the Stibnite Gold Project, the only U.S. source of the critical mineral antimony. The company posted $139 million in construction‑phase financial assurance, satisfying the U.S. Forest Service’s requirements and enabling the conditional Notice to Proceed. This milestone follows nine years of permitting and marks the first physical step toward production, positioning Perpetua to supply antimony for defense and industrial applications while also developing a high‑grade gold mine with an estimated 4.8 million ounces of gold reserves. The project is projected to produce approximately 450,000 ounces of gold annually during its first four years and is expected to create more than 950 direct jobs during construction and 550 during operations. With early‑works construction underway, Perpetua plans to replace the financial assurance with non‑cash arrangements and continue toward full financing, targeting construction readiness by spring 2026.
