Paramount Skydance announced on November 14 2025 that it will divest its ownership stake in Chilevisión, the Chilean free‑to‑air television network, to the investment group Vytal Group. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval in Chile and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.

The sale is part of a broader strategic realignment that followed Paramount Global’s merger with Skydance Media in August 2025. Executives have emphasized a shift away from legacy linear broadcasting toward direct‑to‑consumer platforms such as Paramount+ and Pluto TV. By shedding non‑core assets like Chilevisión, the company aims to streamline operations, reduce costs, and free capital for investment in its streaming portfolio.

Vytal Group, led by industry veterans Tomás Yankelevich, Edgar Spielmann and Jorge Carey, will assume full control of Chilevisión. The group has expressed intent to invest in the channel’s growth and to leverage its existing media expertise to expand Chilevisión’s reach and content offerings.

The divestiture aligns with a broader trend in the media sector, where firms are selling linear assets to focus on digital and streaming services. Paramount Skydance has already sold its Argentine network Telefe, and the combined divestitures are projected to cut the company’s workforce by roughly 1,600 employees.

While the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, the transaction reduces Paramount Skyd6’s stake in Chilevisión and is expected to improve the company’s balance sheet by reducing debt and freeing up cash that can be redirected toward its high‑growth streaming initiatives.

The sale will only become final once Chilean regulatory authorities approve the transfer. Until that approval is obtained, the transaction remains contingent, but the announcement signals a clear strategic direction for Paramount Skydance’s future growth trajectory.
