On October 7, 2024, Papa John's International, Inc. founder John Schnatter secured a preliminary victory in his lawsuit against former ad firm Laundry Service.
Judge Benjamin Beaton in the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Kentucky ruled that the nondisclosure agreement between Schnatter and Laundry Service is valid and binding.
The court also determined that the defendant's motion to compel arbitration was filed too late, clearing the path for the case, originally filed in December 2019, to proceed to a jury trial.
