Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) announced on June 17, 2025, the successful shipment of its first commercial entangled photon source to a leading research institution in South Korea. This marks a milestone in QCi's transition of proprietary quantum technologies from the lab to commercial markets, supporting research in quantum networking and secure communications. The product is a broadband, standalone entangled photon source built on Spontaneous Parametric Down-Conversion (SPDC) using a periodically-poled, bulk format lithium niobate (PPLN) structure. It operates in the C-band telecommunication range and is compatible with current fiber optics infrastructure, integrating seamlessly into research environments. Dr. Yong Meng Sua, CTO of QCi, noted that these entangled photon sources are an integral part of QCi's quantum cybersecurity platform, which received the Edison Award in 2024. Dr. Pouya Dianat, Chief Revenue Officer, added that this shipment demonstrates growing market interest in integrated quantum systems and is a foundational product for QCi's quantum communications roadmap.
