On October 6, 2025, Royal Caribbean Group announced the launch of its newest Icon‑class vessel, Legend of the Seas. The ship will debut in July 2026 in Miami and will later enter the Caribbean in November 2026, offering 7‑night Western Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona and Rome and 6‑night Western Caribbean and 8‑night Southern Caribbean cruises. Legend of the Seas will be the fourth Icon‑class ship powered by liquefied natural gas and will feature the company’s latest environmental technologies, including waste‑heat recovery and shore‑power connections. Legend of the Seas will provide 28 dining options, more than 20 bars and lounges, and a new nightlife program that includes the Royal Railway – Legend Station and the Hollywoodland Supper Club. The ship will also introduce a Broadway‑style show, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” and a redesigned Ultimate Family Townhouse and Ultra‑luxe Suite Neighborhood. On deck, guests will enjoy the world’s largest kinetic art sculpture, Pearl, and a 30,500‑plant Central Park, all designed to enhance the onboard experience. The addition of Legend of the Seas expands Royal Caribbean’s fleet capacity and reinforces its leadership in the Icon‑class segment, which has been a key driver of the company’s recent revenue growth. The ship’s LNG propulsion and advanced sustainability features align with the group’s net‑zero 2035 goal, potentially reducing operating costs and appealing to environmentally conscious travelers. For investors, the launch signals continued investment in high‑margin, high‑yield vessels that are expected to generate significant future cash flows and support the company’s long‑term growth strategy.
