Richardson Electronics, Ltd. announced a supply agreement with TransAlta Corporation, one of Canada’s largest publicly traded power generators. This agreement expands Richardson's customer base for its patented pitch energy modules designed for GE and SSB wind turbine platforms.
Under the terms of the agreement, Richardson Electronics will provide its patented ULTRA3000® and ULTRAPEM™ modules to numerous wind farms across Canada and the United States. Shipments are expected to occur throughout calendar year 2025.
TransAlta Corporation provided positive feedback, noting that Richardson's ultracapacitor-based modules have been an excellent upgrade, reducing pitch faults and downtime on their GE platforms. This partnership highlights the value of Richardson's innovative solutions in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of wind turbine operations.
