Silicon Labs announced a multi‑year partnership with Rimini Street to extend support for its SAP ECC 6.0 system, a move that allows the company to defer costly upgrades while maintaining operational stability across its 12 SAP environments.

Under the agreement, Rimini Street will provide its Rimini Consult services to develop a roadmap that aligns the legacy system with modern operating‑system and database standards. The partnership is expected to reduce technical debt, improve security and compliance, and deliver real‑time reporting capabilities that accelerate decision making.

Silicon Labs is focusing on AI and IoT innovation and wants to allocate resources away from legacy system upgrades. CIO Radhika Chennakeshavula said the partnership frees up critical resources and allows the company to invest in AI technology rather than a low‑ROI platform upgrade: “Rimini Street frees up critical resources, fast‑tracks innovation and provides expert support across our global operations, giving us the flexibility to modernize on our own terms and timeline.”

SAP’s mainstream maintenance for ECC 6.0 ends in 2027, with extended maintenance available until 2030. Rimini Street offers support until 2040, giving Silicon Labs a longer runway. The deal is a strategic response to the broader shift toward third‑party support as SAP phases out legacy systems.

The partnership adds a high‑profile semiconductor client to Rimini Street’s portfolio and reinforces its position as a leading third‑party support provider. Rimini Street’s Q3 2025 revenue was $103.4 million, with net income improving to $2.8 million, indicating that the deal will contribute to recurring revenue growth.

CEO Matt Johnson noted that Silicon Labs’ sequential and year‑over‑year growth in sales and profitability is driven by strong execution across its business, and that the partnership supports the company’s focus on new customer ramps and continued earnings growth.

The partnership positions Silicon Labs to maintain operational continuity while accelerating its AI strategy, and it underscores the growing importance of extended support solutions for legacy ERP systems.
