RTX’s Raytheon unit has secured a $168 million foreign‑military‑sales contract to supply Romania with Patriot air‑and‑missile‑defense equipment, including a radar, command‑and‑control system, launchers and support and test equipment. The order represents Romania’s second Patriot purchase within a year, following a $946 million contract signed in January 2025.
The deal adds to RTX’s already sizable backlog of $236 billion, of which the defense segment accounts for $103 billion. While the contract is modest relative to the overall backlog, it strengthens the company’s position as a preferred supplier of Patriot systems in Europe and contributes to a growing pipeline of high‑margin foreign‑military sales.
The contract underscores Romania’s continued investment in the Patriot platform, which has proven effective in conflicts worldwide. By securing the order, RTX expands its footprint in NATO‑aligned air‑defense markets and supports its strategy to grow multi‑year revenue streams from defense contracts.
RTX’s Q3 2025 results showed revenue of $22.478 billion and diluted EPS of $1.41, with the Raytheon segment generating $7 billion in sales. Management highlighted strong demand for Patriot and other defense programs, and CEO Christopher Calio emphasized confidence in the company’s growth trajectory.
Analysts continue to view RTX favorably, citing the company’s robust backlog, expanding defense contracts, and solid guidance for 2025, which projects adjusted sales of $83–$84 billion and EPS of $6–$6.15. The new contract adds to the momentum and supports the company’s outlook.
