Rumble Canada announced on April 7, 2025, that it has joined Rebel News Network and its founder, Ezra Levant, in suing the government of Canada and several officials. The lawsuit, filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, alleges a conspiracy to deprive them of their constitutional right to free expression.

The suit claims that officials attempted to obstruct two lawful public gatherings, 'Rumble Live' and 'Rebel News Live,' in May 2024 by imposing unreasonably high security charges. These charges were allegedly designed to prevent the events from taking place due to disagreement with the organizers' political viewpoints.

The plaintiffs are seeking reimbursement of $37,177.80 for excessive security costs, $250,000 in punitive damages, and legal expenses. This legal action aligns with Rumble's core mission to protect and promote free speech on its platform and in related events.
