Rail Vision Ltd. announced on November 18, 2024, an innovative advancement in railway safety and control with its new Active Control System. Developed in collaboration with a major U.S.-based rail company, this system moves beyond passive warning systems to directly control locomotive throttle and brakes.
This next-generation capability is tailored for shunting yard locomotives and leverages Rail Vision’s proprietary AI technology to provide real-time insights integrated into the customer’s locomotive control systems. The initial rollout of this system is scheduled to begin by the end of 2024 on the customer’s U.S. fleet.
CEO Shahar Hania stated that this development represents a major milestone in supporting the evolution of autonomous rail operations. The system aims to mitigate risks and preserve business continuity by enabling active control for autonomous applications.
