StandardAero announced on January 8, 2025, that its engine overhaul center in San Antonio, Texas, secured maintenance organization approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). This approval covers the CFM International LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B turbofan engines. This certification enables StandardAero to provide MRO services to operators in China.
The Chinese market currently has over 1,200 LEAP-1A and LEAP-1B engines in operation, powering Airbus A320neo family and Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. StandardAero supports these engines as a CFM 'Premier MRO' provider, holding the only independent CBSA license in the Americas. The San Antonio facility offers a full range of LEAP quick time shop visit (QTSV) and performance restoration shop visit (PRSV) services.
This CAAC approval represents a significant market expansion for StandardAero, allowing it to tap into a substantial and growing segment of the global aerospace aftermarket. The company's Component Repair Services team has industrialized over 260 component repairs for the LEAP family, further supporting its comprehensive service offering in this critical market.
