StandardAero announced on June 3, 2025, a strategic partnership with Green Taxi Solutions (GTS) to lead the certification of GTS's Zero Engine Taxi™ fully electric aircraft taxiing solution. This collaboration is supported by a newly awarded $5.6 million U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Continuous Lower Energy, Emissions and Noise (CLEEN) program grant. The partnership aims to accelerate the development of the eTaxi system.

The Zero Engine Taxi™ system enables aircraft to taxi without using their main engines, which is projected to reduce fuel burn, carbon emissions, brake wear, noise, and turnaround times. GTS estimates annual savings of 80,000 gallons of fuel and $250,000 per aircraft, aligning with aviation industry sustainability goals. StandardAero's certification group will lead the FAA certification, expected to take two to three years, starting with the Embraer E175.

This partnership represents a significant step in advancing sustainability across aviation as part of StandardAero's GreenERmro™ initiatives. The eTaxi system is viewed as a viable near-term solution for reducing fuel burn and emissions during ground operations, offering immediate value to operators without requiring changes to existing infrastructure.
