SolarEdge Technologies, Inc. launched a new solar-powered EV charging solution for businesses at Intersolar Europe 2025. This solution integrates a new EV charger with an energy management system, following the acquisition of Wevo Energy.
Businesses utilizing SolarEdge’s solar systems can now charge their EV fleets with 'power-optimized' solar energy, with one beta customer reporting an approximate 70% reduction in EV charging costs. The SolarEdge ONE EV Charger is currently available for commercial applications and is expected for residential applications in Q3 2025.
The solution combines customer-specific EV charging schedules and solar generation patterns with real-time grid electricity prices to autonomously calculate the most economical energy source. This allows for optimized solar self-consumption and the use of excess solar, enabling scaling up to 20 times more chargers on existing infrastructure.
