Shimmick Corporation announced on June 23, 2025, the launch of Axia Electric LLC, a new dedicated electrical subsidiary. This subsidiary is designed to meet the growing market demand for specialized, high-performance electrical and power distribution solutions across various infrastructure markets. Axia Electric will focus on low- and medium-voltage markets, as well as commissioning and operations and maintenance (O&M) services.
The new entity builds upon Shimmick's more than 20 years of experience in delivering complex electrical systems for clients in public and private sectors, including municipalities, airports, ports, and industrial manufacturers. CEO Ural Yal stated that Axia Electric will sharpen the company's focus to better serve a growing market and increasing customer demands for electrical and power services, allowing Shimmick to scale in this high-demand segment.
Fernando DeLeon, President of Axia Electric, will lead the subsidiary, which currently has over 150 skilled employees. Shimmick also announced recent electrical contract awards totaling $42 million for projects with the Orange County Sanitation District, San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, City of Santa Cruz, and Redwood Materials. The company currently has over $380 million in active electrical construction projects under contract.
