Signet Jewelers' UK brands, H Samuel and Ernest Jones, reported a pre-tax loss of £483,000 for the fiscal year ending February 3, 2024. This represents a significant reduction from the £8.9 million loss recorded in the previous 12-month period, indicating some improvement in profitability.

Despite the reduced loss, turnover for the UK operations declined from £384.1 million to £344.6 million over the same fiscal year. This sales decrease was primarily attributed to the rising cost of living in the United Kingdom, which impacted consumer spending on discretionary items.

The performance of the UK segment highlights the challenges faced by Signet in international markets due to macroeconomic factors. While cost management efforts helped narrow losses, the decline in sales indicates ongoing pressures on revenue generation in the region.
