SLB introduced Neuro autonomous geosteering, an AI-driven solution that dynamically responds to subsurface complexities to drill more efficient and higher-performing wells. This technology also contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of drilling operations. Neuro geosteering integrates and interprets complex real-time subsurface information using artificial intelligence to autonomously guide the drill bit through the most productive layers of the reservoir. This process eliminates the need for manual interpretation and decision-making by geologists and directional drillers. The system has been deployed in Ecuador for Shaya Ecuador S.A., where it completed 25 autonomous geosteering trajectory changes in seconds while drilling a 2,392-foot lateral section.
