NuScale Power Corporation announced the opening of its latest Energy Exploration (E2) Center at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, on June 4, 2025. This facility is the largest of its kind in the United States.
The E2 Center, established in partnership with George Mason University's College of Engineering and Computing, was funded by the Virginia Clean Energy Innovation Bank. It features the first full-scale 12-module simulator in the U.S., providing students with hands-on experience as control room operators.
This significant investment in Virginia's nuclear energy workforce development aims to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application. The center will also facilitate community education through demonstrations and tours for local leaders and K-12 students, deepening their understanding of nuclear power's role in clean energy.
